The La Constance Tennis Center of Akropong Akwapim participated in the just-ended McDan Junior Tennis Tournament in Accra. In all La Constance presented 11 Kids playing in 13 games and winning 6 of them with one the players Awuni Bissi advancing to the quarter-finals in the Boys under fourteen.
This is an incredible achievement for the La Constance Tennis center coming from a District Town far from the glamour of the City participants
It would be recalled that the La Constance Tennis Center for Kids was established with the Mission that through Education, Social interaction, Advocacy, to use Tennis as a medium to inculcate discipline, education, and the play of Tennis to advance the course of the Youth, with the Vision being that The Leaders of tomorrow are born today.
The Center has about 40 Kids and all the services are provided FREE of charge. The Center is managed by a formidable team of Lizzy Opoku Mankosah – Female coach and Nutritionist, Isaac Offei – Administrator and Glenn Nana Adu Agyei – The overall Coach
Commenting on the Program, Dr. Kwame Aniapam Boafo Founder of the Center said he is indeed thrilled by the performance of the La Constance Kids and said that the Program has come a long and paid a growing tribute to the Tennis Warehouse and the Match Point Tennis Club both in the US for their unflinching support in making the center what it has become.
Dr Boafo prayed for support for the purchase of a Bus to transport the Kids to and from the court, who otherwise have to walk miles to the court in all kind of elements. He made special mention of Drs. Leslie Bruce Lyle, David Gboloo, Stephen Asiedu, Ernest Quaye, Haki Issah, Baah Asante Hon DK Osei, Obaa Yaa Korantema, Diana Bampo , Jesse Adu and a whole others who have been significant contributors to sustain the program.
